Russia Launches Kalibr Cruise Missile Attack from Black Sea, Alarm Sounds In Ukraine

Russia launched a Kalibr cruise missile attack from the Black Sea, alarms raised in several oblasts of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the Russians launched Kalibr missiles from their Navy ships.

"Attention! Kalibr cruise missile launches from the Black Sea have been observed!” warning from the Ukrainian Air Force.

Air raid warning alarms went off in Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy and Vinnytsia Oblasts.

Siren sounds indicate the threat of missile attack and air attack. Under these conditions, Ukrainian civilians were ordered to flee to shelters.
At 11:06 (Kyiv time), air raid warnings were also issued in Poltava, Odesa, and Kyiv Oblasts, wrote Ukrainska Pravda (6/16/2023).

Air raid warnings began to be issued in the Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr and Chernivtsi Oblasts at 11:19 a.m. local time.

Explosions were then reported in the Ukrainian capital at 11:34 a.m.

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that air defense forces were activated in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast.

Ukrainians are urged to stay in shelters until permission is granted. The all-clear was then issued at 12:17 p.m.

Initial reports stated that Ukrainian air defense forces managed to destroy 12 missiles during the Russian attack on June 16.
